Apple 2023 Spring Event: The Latest Leaks and Rumors

Apple 2023 Spring Event: The Latest Leaks and Rumors

Apple spring event has been set for March 2023. The exact Apple spring event date is March 8, 2023.

As we approach Apple's annual spring event, rumors and leaks are starting to circulate about what the company might announce.

While nothing is confirmed until the host takes the stage, here's a roundup of the latest rumors and what we can expect from Apple's "Peek performance" event.

Apple Event on March 8: What’s coming from Apple

Apple is set to hold its first event of 2023 on Tuesday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Apple's spring events often aren't as exciting as the September and October events, but it's nice to have new devices on the horizon in the new year.

The Apple 2023 Spring Event is just around the corner, confirmed to happen on the 8th of March. As usual, there are plenty of rumors and leaks floating around about what new products and features we can expect to see. Many are hoping for news about a new budget iPhone, while others are excited about M2 chips.

There‘s a lot we expect for the March event.

For the 2022 spring event, we're expecting a refreshed version of the iPhone SE, a new iPad Air, and at least one new Apple silicon Mac. We've rounded up everything that we might see at the March 8 event below.

iPad Air

The 2020 iPad Air is a great tablet for work and play, but it's time for an upgrade.

As of right now, the iPad Air is the only iPad that still doesn’t have Center Stage functionality. The lack of an automatically panning camera can be bothersome when making video calls with friends or family members, especially during work meetings and conferences. We suspect that this feature might make its way into the new iPad Air if there’s one.

Experts predict that most changes to the iPad Air will be under the hood. The new model may come equipped with an A15 chip just like its smaller sibling — this would mean improved performance.

The iPad Air is a great budget option for many people as it’s affordable but still remains compatible with Apple’s accessories. You can use the Apple Pencil and even the Magic Keyboard to have a full iPad experience without having to spend the extra money on a different model.

Are you looking forward to what Apple has in store for the iPad Air? Make sure to tune in for the event, and check our blog for news!

iPhone SE 5G

The next generation of the budget iPhone, the iPhone SE, may be announced at the Apple Spring Event in 2022. Unfortunately, experts predict that the changes won’t be impactful enough to motivate you to make a purchase.

While hardware changes are expected, many have concerns about the lack of Face ID and other features introduced with the release of the iPhone X. The design is expected to remain similar to the current iPhone SE as well, closer to the old style of phones Apple created.

If you want a better-performing budget iPhone, the new iPhone SE may be worth the wait, depending on product specifications and the price which is yet to be revealed at the Apple Spring Event.

Mac

A huge focus is expected to be on the new MacBook Pro. The eagerly awaited M2 chip is expected at this year's event, which would bring a number of improvements to the laptop.

The CPU will most likely remain the same, but Apple might upgrade their GPU, giving new devices like MacBook Pro a huge performance boost. With an eye towards 2023, we could see iMacs and the MacBook Air receiving it as well!

There are no design changes likely coming our way — the same Retina Display seems the safest option right now for Apple. We’re also not expecting to see the notch, HDR display, or the all-black keyboard.

13-Inch MacBook Pro

There are a few rumors suggesting that Apple will introduce an updated version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro during the spring event. But it's not clear if that's accurate as the machine will likely use an updated M2 chip, but other Macs that are also going to adopt the ‌M2‌ chip, like the refreshed MacBook Air, aren't launching until later in the year.

We wait to see.

New iPhone Case Colors

New ‌iPhone‌ case colors were leaked on Twitter at the end of February, and it's likely these cases are going to be released following the March event. New colors include a light blue, a darker green-blue, an orange shade, and a yellow.

We'll also likely see these same colors available for ‌iPad‌ cases and perhaps Apple Watch bands. Apple won't focus on these new cases on stage, but we'll see them added to the online store after the event.

iOS 15.4, iPadOS 15.4, and macOS Monterey Release Dates

Apple already has been beta testing iOS 15.4, iPadOS 15.4, and macOS Monterey 12.3 since late January, and now the updates are nearly ready to launch. The software may not come out on March 8. But Apple will likely mention their launch date information and release candidates could also come following the event.

iOS 15.4 is a huge update. It brings support for using ‌Face ID‌ while wearing a mask if you have an iPhone 12 or newer. It also introduces new emoji characters, lays the groundwork for Tap to Pay, adds a Siri's voice, and improves the anti-stalking functionality of AirTags.

Also, ‌macOS Monterey‌ 12.3 and iPadOS 15.4 will add the long-awaited Universal Control feature. This feature is designed to allow multiple Macs and iPads to be controlled with a single mouse/trackpad and keyboard.
